Cairns Tilt Train, Australia
Cairns Tilt Train project consists of two modern tilting DMU trains for operation on the 1,670 km main line between Brisbane and Cairns in eastern Australia. The project is a joint venture between Queensland Rail and EDI Rail Walkers Pty Ltd. EKE-Trainnet® Train Management System (TMS) in Cairns Tilt Train is a full flavoured train control and diagnostics system that integrates all intelligent subsystems in the train. An unfortunate accident happened 15th November 2004 near city of Berajondo. Read details in the investigation report. The accident data was recorded in Event Recorder. |

• Lighting controls, door locking/release, air conditioning settings, etc
- Provides automatic (or semi-automatic) functions
• Door control, air system, communications, smoke detectors - Two Event Recorders
• Recording identical data in both Power Cars - Track condition monitoring and reporting on locations and conditions
The TMS equipment for one train consists of
- 2 EKE-TMS Train Computers,
- 7 EKE-TMS Coach Computers,
- 3 EKE-MMI Stations for the driver,
- 6 EKE-MMI display/keypads,
- 5 EKE-DI Destination Indicators.
