EKE-Electronics provides two user interface display types. Both can be used as a driver display or as a train crew display. Displays can be equipped with touchscreens or with softkeys.

12" and 6,5" Flat Displays

The EKE-Trainnet® Flat Display Units are railway-compliant display monitors. They are 1024x768 (12") or 640x480 (6,5") pixel resolution displays with touch-screen or soft keys. There is a DVI-I interface, and a touchscreen interface integrated into the same cable. The display functions as a user-interface for diagnostics and controlling purposes onboard the train. It is designed to be used in train driver´s desk applications and as a CCTV (closed circuit television) monitor as well as train staff´s information display.

In an EKE-Trainnet® system, the Flat Display Unit is connected to the CPG module. CPG is the Coach Computer’s Central Processing unit with Graphic Display Controller. The CPG module sends the data to be displayed (picture) on the Display, and the Display transmits the states of the keys and display status diagnostics to the CPG. The application and configuration is created and handled by the CPG.

EKE-Electronics is happy to develop the display application with or for the customer. It is up to the customer to decide how the display logic will work. EKE-Electronics can support the customers with an experience of numerous train projects.

The layout and symbols of the buttons is based on the UIC 557 railway standard.

The protection level of the Flat Display Unit is IP65 at front. There are no moving parts, fans or switches in the Display.
