Products and Systems

EKE-Trainnet® systems are intelligent computer systems that control, monitor and record train operation; from doors and lighting to braking and tilting. The new generation of train data networks is based on 1Gb Ethernet, IP-protocols and EN50155 -compliant Ethernet Switching Units with PoE (Power over Ethernet).

EKE-Trainnet® products include a complete family of train management system functions and components. The EKE-Trainnet® system consists of a TCN Gateway or Ethernet Switching Unit as the core product, and a line of other components including local intelligence, intelligent and non-intelligent system interfaces, and data logging. The EKE-Trainnet® features also include a data radio depot interface.

Full EKE-Trainnet® systems are typically made up of the following components:

1) Coach Computer racks in each locomotive and/or coach,

2) Data network or bus (e.g. Ethernet, WTB, MVB, CAN) connecting the coaches and subsystems with each other,

3) Online connection (GPRS, 3G, WLAN) to the maintenance depot, including Portable System Tester and Train Inspection Program,

4) Event Recorder, with protected memory module (RMM),

5) User interface displays for the train crew, and

6) Information system for passengers (displays, announcement system).

EKE-Electronics has delivered over 10.000 EKE-Trainnet® systems all over the world. Our systems are used in the most extreme climatic conditions: from the summer heat in Australia to the winter cold in Finland.
